Laney is originally from SC but her husband's career brought them to Virginia, where they have lived in the Altavista area since 1971. Her first career was as a high school English teacher but she stopped teaching to help raise their 2 children. Once the children started school, Laney began her career as a Realtor®, and is now in her 38th year. She especially enjoys working with first time home buyers and helping them find the perfect home. Much of her business now comes from repeat clients and referrals. She treasures the many friendships that she has formed over the years with her clients!

Laney has been very active in the Altavista community where she served as YMCA Board President; served on the Habitat Board for 22 years, was on Altavista Planning Commission for many years and has served in many positions at her church. She and her husband have been married for 53 years and now have been blessed with 8 almost perfect grandchildren! When time allows, they enjoy cycling, traveling to the beach, and visiting family and friends.
